Water purification with a jug filter
The jug filter is a flow filter. Water is purified as it flows through the cartridge due to gravity. Inside the cartridge, activated carbon granules and ion-exchange resin are densely packed.
Activated carbon absorbs harmful impurities: chlorine, pesticides, petroleum products and other toxins, so that the water becomes transparent, foreign smell and taste are removed. Resin reduces water hardness and slows down the formation of scale. Large mechanical impurities: rust, sand, silt - the cartridge retains like a sieve.
In Aquaphor water jug filters, activated carbon and resin are mixed with Aqualen fiber (a patented invention of the company). Thanks to Aqualen, the cartridge lasts longer, and water cannot wash its “channels” and pass without cleaning: Aqualen firmly holds the granules together, like tree roots hold the soil.
Differences between different models.
Main characteristics.
The volume of the jug and funnel Aquaphor produces pitcher water filters with a volume of 2 to 4.2 liters. The larger the volume, the more water you can store in the jug “in reserve”. The volume of the funnel shows how much water can be filtered in one spill. Aquaphor jugs have funnels from 1.2 liters to 1.9 liters.
Resource in liters
Depends on the type of plug-in module. Jug modules Aquaphor have a resource of 170 to 300 liters. The figure shows how many liters of water can be filtered by the module before replacement. How quickly the resource ends depends on the number of people in the family, the quality of the water and the frequency of using the filter. 300 liters is usually enough for two months in a family of 3 people.
Liter counter
It will be easier to change the cartridge in time if you have an Aquaphor filter jug with a resource indicator: the counter can be mechanical or electronic.
Plug-in fit standard Aquaphor has three formats of replaceable modules for jugs:
1 Standard. Module for a round landing nest with a diameter of 5 cm, popular in many countries.
2 Common in Europe “rectangular” cartridge fit standard. Such modules are suitable for popular German brands and Aquaphor jugs.
3 A module for a round landing socket with a diameter of 7 cm is the proprietary standard of Aquaphor cartridges.
How often to change the cartridge?
The main thing when using a jug filter is to change the cartridges on time. So you and your loved ones will always drink clean, safe water. The cartridge does not release impurities back into the water at the end of the resource, but ceases to cope with water purification. In order not to keep information about the replacement in your head and not to look for the right module every time, subscribe to reminders.
